How To Make A Free Photo Collage Using Ipiccy
We love using photo collages for our community posts, listing posts, etc. They're a quick way to showcase a community with a minimal amount of effort (okay, that's assuming you've ALREADY taken the photos!). Our personal program of choice is free, it's Ipiccy. Just visit www.ipiccy.com and you can be in business in moments! No registration, no real fuss once you figure things out. Now we're not saying ipiccy.com is the BEST possible program out there for this, but it suits our needs so we go with it.And here's a step by step on how we do it!
1. What you see when you visit ipiccy. DO click Enable Local Storage so you can download more than one picture.
2. Click Upload Photo, select from your picture inventory and bring them in. Repeat as needed until you have all the photos you want to work with.
3. Click the four squares button to access the Collage making function.
4. On the left side bar you get a menu of selections plus a series of collage templates to pick from. Find the one you like and click it. It'll now center in the right working area of the screen.
5. Use Spacing to adjust the thickness of the bars in the collage. Use Roundness to adjust the roundness of the framing around each picture corner, click the black square and move the bottom slider to get color of frames. Click on the rectangle to get the specific tint you want, then the X. We'll come back to Proportions later! Click Add Images to get to the next screen.
6. Photos are on the left, collage template on the right.
7. Drag photos from the left and drop into the appropriate spot on your collage template. Repeat until full! Click Done to get the left sidebar back.
8. Time to fine tune a bit. Now you can slide the Proportions slide to adjust the height/width of the collage. Note the changes to each of the boxes in the collage. Stop when you have what you want. Then go to each individual photo and move it up/down/right/left as you want to adjust the appearance (we like to hide as much of the street as possible). You're on the home stretch! When you're TOTALLY done tinkering with color, positioning, etc, then go to the right corner of the working area and click DONE. (There's no going back once you've done this!).
9. Now the left side bar comes to this. This is mostly for editing single photos, but there's one button in particular you want here, Resize Image.
10. The Resize window, use the top left field. Change to max of 690 or whatever smaller size works for you.. Make sure Constrain Proportions is checked first. Then hit Apply. Now you're REALLY almost done!
11. Click the Save icon!
12. Move the Quality slider to get better quality. Click Save Photo, rename and save your collage! Now use it wherever you want! Your blog posts, Facebook, or Pinterest, or your website or anyplace else you like to post pictures!Photos keep readers engaged and the 1000 words thing? Maybe a picture is worth a lot more than that when you're talking real estate!
